Where does this safari take you?

This year's Safari begins in Melbourne, before boarding the Spirit of Tasmania across the Bass Strait to Devonport. Travel to Launceston, a food and wine lovers paradise and Mole Creek, a place renowned for its spectacular caves. Continue travelling north-west to Stanley, a small historic village on the northwest coast of Tasmania. Venture south to Cradle Mountain, where you will be stunned by the sheer beauty of such a wild landscape, while ancient rainforest and alpine heathlands provide a range of environments to explore. Continue on to Strahan where you will take a train ride into history on the West Coast Wilderness Railway. Follow the tracks of miners or experience mirror perfect reflections on the Gordon River with a cruise.

En-route to Hobart you will visit Mount Field, the location of what must be the most photographed waterfall in Tasmania - Russell Falls. Arrive in Hobart, a thriving festival city with a real sense of history where you will enjoy a full day trip to Bruny Island. For walking, eating and just soaking in the atmosphere Hobart can't be beat. You have the option of experiencing the famous Cadbury's chocolate factory and to shop at the Salamanca markets. Explore the many beautiful beach side towns in this southern part of Tasmania.

Travel to Port Arthur where every building and every feature of this Historic Site has a story to tell. From Port Arthur you will continue on to Bicheno, while experiencing stunning untouched beaches and breathtaking coastal walks which include some superb rocky outcrops and spectacular blowholes. Travel inland to Scottsdale, a rich agriculture and forestry district. Continue to Launceston, where you can cruise the Tamar River and Cataract Gorge, before reaching Bothwell. Travel to Devonport where you will board the Spirit of Tasmania for your return overnight journey to Melbourne, where your safari will conclude and you will bid farewell to your fellow travellers.
